Picky Eaters Require a Little Bit of Patience!

Are you concerned because your children won't eat their fruits and vegetables? "Picky" eaters are often showing early attempts to make decisions, a normal part of growing up. Be patient and arm yourself with practical tips to ease particular eaters into eating more nutritious foods.

At mealtime, serve at least one food you are sure your children like, but encourage them to try the foods other members of the family enjoy, like asparagus or broccoli.
Offer choices, but not too many. Having your child pick between two or three options gives a feeling of control.
Involve kids in the meal planning, grocery shopping and cooking process. Often, even the most particular eaters will eat foods they help plan, buy or make.
Be a good role model and eat the foods you are trying to get them to eat.
Have patience! Focus your attention on the positives in your child's eating behavior and not your child's foods.
